  • - No External Tracking: Aegis does not use cookies, fingerprinting, or other tracking technologies.

6. Third-Party Services

  • Aegis relies on the following services to function:
  • - Aegis API (https://aegis.anemos.app): Used to fetch video ratings and summaries based on YouTube video IDs.
  • - OpenAI (optional): For each query or video ID, Aegis makes API calls to OpenAI's services via the Aegis API to generate video insights. If a user provides their own OpenAI API key, the Aegis server processes the request using the provided key instead of Aegis' default API key.

7. User Rights and Control

  • - Opt-Out and Data Removal: Users can delete all stored preferences and API keys at any time through the extension settings.
  • - Minimal Data Retention: IP addresses used for rate-limiting are stored only temporarily and automatically deleted after 24 hours.
  • - Transparency: Aegis is a proprietary project. While efforts are made to ensure clarity on how data is processed, the source code is not publicly available.

8. Developer Protection & Liability Disclaimer

8.1 No Warranties & Use at Your Own Risk

  • If a user provides their own OpenAI API key, they are solely responsible for any billing, security, or usage issues. The developer does not store, transmit, or have access to users' API keys.
  • Aegis does not control third-party services (such as OpenAI or YouTube), and the developer is not responsible for any service disruptions, policy changes, or technical failures that may affect Aegis' functionality.

8.3 Security & Open-Source Considerations

  • While Aegis is designed with security in mind, the developer cannot guarantee that the extension is free from vulnerabilities. Users should ensure that they are running a secure and updated browser.

9. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

This Privacy Policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Germany, excluding its conflict of law rules.

9.1 Dispute Resolution
